Age specific experience and/or special training and/or expertise are required to serve this population.</p><h3>POSITION SUMMARY</h3><p>The ultrasound technologist provides diagnostic ultrasound services to patients.</p><p><br/></p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><h3>JOB DUTIES</h3><p><u><strong>DIRECT PATIENT CARE</strong></u></p><p>· To perform and complete diagnostic ultrasound procedures accurately.</p><p>· To give patients an explanation of procedures to perform &amp; acquire appropriate consent forms and paperwork</p><p>· To follow radiation safety protocol at all times.</p><p>· To provide care appropriate to the age of the population served. INDIRECT PATIENT CARE</p><p>· To complete assignments on time and utilize time effectively.</p><p>· To support cost containment efforts of the Medical Center through conservation of supplies and care of equipment.</p><p>· To clean examination rooms and other supporting equipment. COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS</p><p>· To work at establishing good rapport and working relationship with all staff.</p><p>· To complete the appropriate documentation.</p><p>· To communicate in English in patient care areas.</p><p>· To report any unusual occurrences, situation, or hazards to appropriate personnel.</p><p>· To report any malfunctioning of equipment. SAFETY</p><p>· To demonstrate knowledge of safety, infection control, and emergency policies and procedures.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><strong>QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM</strong></p><p>· To participate in quality improvement activities. At least one- year experience in diagnostic ultrasound in a hospital setting required. 3- 5 years experience in a hospital setting preferred.</p>
