Ulstein Design &amp; Solutions AS strengthens its engineering team and seeks engaged engineers. Do you want to contribute to developing sustainable vessels?   <br /> <br />The engineering team contributes during the ship design cycle, engineering Ulstein designs for building, as well as taking on consulting work during the sailing period. As an engineer you contribute to cross-disciplinary development of ships systems. <br /><br />We are looking for someone who has experience from the maritime industry, and background from marine machinery systems.  <br /><br /><br /> <h3>Duties and responsibilities </h3><ul><li>Design and engineering of ship machinery systems in various project phases  <br /><ul><li>Capture/familiar with requirements to the machinery system and assess impact    <br /></li><li>Develop basic system designs, configurations and plans for approval by class, owner and/or yard that meet building specification and regulatory requirements   <br /></li><li>Understands main and sub-systems key functionality, specifications, configurations and associated components (power &amp; propulsion, general ship, and mission-specific systems)    <br /></li><li>Good knowledge of standard equipment and technology available in the market    <br /></li><li>Support with technical advice and equipment specifications/quality assurance    <br /></li><li>Knowledge of ships HVAC and sanitary systems. <br /></li></ul></li><li>Act as discipline lead in engineering projects   <br /></li><li>Participate and contribute with discipline knowledge within the Company and in interface with external stakeholders     <br /></li><li>Be familiar with relevant international and national regulations and legislation, class rules and standards     <br /></li><li>Contribute to development and improvement of methods, standards, procedures, and technical solutions    <br /></li><li>Contribute with costing and planning of projects   <br /></li><li>The position will involve some travel activity  </li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Technical vocation school or University, Master&#39;s degree   <br /></li><li>Technical vocation school or University, Bachelor&#39;s degree   <br /></li><li>Knowledge and experience from working with marine machinery systems are a preference   <br /></li><li>Good skills in CAD software are a preference  <br /></li><li>Good communication skills in English and Norwegian   </li></ul><h3>Personal qualities</h3><ul><li>Ability to take responsibility of given tasks and to work both within a team and independently when required   <br /></li><li>Willingness to enhance your engineering and project management knowledge and to share already gained experiences   <br /></li><li>Good communication skills, analytical thinking, and solution-oriented attitude   <br /></li><li>Contribute to and encourage good working environment    <br /></li><li>Good ability to solve complex issues   </li></ul><h3>We can offer</h3><ul><li>Competitive terms   <br /></li><li>An engaging working environment   <br /></li><li>Flexible working hours   <br /></li><li>Good pension and insurance arrangements   </li></ul><h3>Kontaktinformasjon</h3>Kristin Hide, Technical Manager, &#43;47 992 72 142<br /> <h3>Arbeidssted</h3>Osnesvegen 118<br /> 6065 ULSTEINVIK<br /> <h3>Nøkkelinformasjon:</h3>Arbeidsgiver: Ulstein Group<br /> <br /> Referansenr.: 5147778321<br /> Stillingsprosent: 100%<br /> Permanent position<br /> Søknadsfrist: 03.07.2026<br /> <br />
