The Residential Counselor supports program participants’ stability and wellbeing while in the Bridge Transitional and Emergency Programs.&nbsp;</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><ul><li>Schedules and completes documentation of all weekly sessions of an assigned caseload of approximately 25-30 individuals and families (for Full-Time) in the Bridge Programs (Transitional and Emergency).</li><li>Facilitates assigned weekly education sessions.</li><li>Completes assigned assessments for individuals and families in the Bridge Programs (Transitional and Emergency).</li><li>Provides one-on-one milieu counseling as necessary in addition to assigned caseload.</li><li>Develops appropriate, measurable Stability Plans for assigned caseload.</li><li>Collaborates with Care Team and associated staff, providing strategy for participants’ stability. Follows-up on Information Reports for participants.</li><li>Maintains participant confidentiality in accordance with Denver Rescue Mission policy.</li><li>Makes referrals to appropriate internal and external resources to support participants’ stability goals.</li><li>Collaborates with case management to facilitate positive participant transitions to more stable housing.</li></ul><p><br/></p><p>Requirements</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work or a helping field of study.</li><li>Prior experience preferred in programmatic residential settings serving individuals and families – preferably with populations who have experienced homelessness, addictive behavior and general family challenges.</li><li>Strong social and interpersonal skills required.</li><li>Ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification within 90 days of hire (training provided).</li><li>Mandatory Reporter Training required within 30 days of hire (training provided).&nbsp;</li><li>Must have a person-centered philosophy, take initiative, multi-task, and work with a diverse population.</li><li>Active Driver’s License and ability to meet DRM insurability standards, as a limited amount of work-related travel may be required.</li><li>Must be a Christian holding to the beliefs set forth in the Statement of Faith, expressed by a personal testimony and Christian conduct.&nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><em>Denver Rescue Mission is both an equal opportunity employer and a distinctly faith-based Christian organization.
