Rigorously tested in real-world conditions, the equipment embodies Klättermusen’s commitment to creating the best and most sustainable equipment available. At Klättermusen, we design and develop equipment built to perform in the most demanding outdoor environments. We are now looking for a curious and hands-on Product Developer Assistant to support the creation of our backpacks, bags, and carry systems — products defined by durability, functionality, and long-term reliability. In this role, you will contribute to turning technical ideas and concepts into well-crafted outdoor equipment, supporting the development process from early prototypes to production readiness. You will report to the Hardware Design Lead and work closely with our Product Developer(s) throughout the full development cycle — from early concept mockups and prototype iterations to final production handover. This is a junior, growth-oriented role with real responsibility, ideal for someone who is detail-focused, solution-driven, and excited to learn by doing. What you’ll do: Build and maintain development documentation for packs and equipment styles Prepare and update tech packs, technical drawings, construction notes, and specs Manage BOMs (webbing, foams, buckles, reinforcements, fabrics, trims and colors) with accuracy Coordinate prototype requests, track samples and prices with supplier Review prototypes for construction quality, functionality, load paths, and durability in close collaboration with Product Developer Support functional testing (carry comfort, load distribution, wear & abrasion) and log results Help run working sessions: measure, document changes, and track decisions Communicate with suppliers on timelines, proto comments, and improvements Update PLM and keep seasonal data up to date Help prepare final documentation for production and bulk handover Hands‑on prototyping support Create quick mockups of pockets, straps, harness parts, and construction details Use a sewing machine for simple build‑ups and sample tweaks Build small physical models to convey concepts clearly to design, PD, and suppliers Collaboration Report to the Hardware Design Lead for direction and priority setting Work side‑by‑side with Product Development on day‑to‑day progress and vendor communication Partner with Design, Materials, and Sourcing teams as projects evolve What you bring: A degree in Industrial Design, Product Development, Textile Engineering, or similar Basic understanding of soft‑goods construction and pack‑building principles Good skills in Adobe Illustrator for technical drawings and spec updates Some experience with 3D tools (e.g., Clo, Blender, Rhino, Fusion)—beginner level is enough Practical ability to create mockups / functional detail models Comfortable using a sewing machine for quick prototypes and adjustments Strong organization, careful with measurements and documentation Clear communication and ease working with international suppliers A curious, problem‑solving mindset and interest in outdoor equipment This is a junior role: we don’t expect expert‑level mastery—just initiative, care for detail, and eagerness to learn fast. What Klättermusen offers: A development‑focused role with visible impact on future hardware performance Long‑term growth within a premium, purpose‑driven outdoor brand A fast‑moving environment with meaningful responsibility from day one Exposure to international sourcing, suppliers, and advanced construction methods A workplace rooted in the outdoors—Åre is both our home and our testing ground Field‑testing involvement aligned with our philosophy: “Maximum safety for you, minimum impact on nature.” The position is based in Åre and starts as soon as possible.
