Basketball Cheer Coach

<p>Description</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Primary Purpose</strong>: The basketball cheer coach oversees the cheer program at Gehlen Catholic. They are responsible for organizing the basketball cheerleaders during the basketball season.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p><ul><li>Train and supervise students in the use of: <ul> <li>Practice</li> <li>Games</li> </ul></li><li>Teach the cheerleaders the school fight song and the cheers to be performed during basketball games and pep rallies.</li><li>Communicate with players and parents</li><li>Attend all basketball games, home and away (Boys and Girls)</li><li>Work with the Athletic Director closely on scheduling and transportation.</li><li>Follow the rules and policies set forth by Gehlen Catholic for eligibility requirements.</li><li>Know and follow all rules and regulations from the ICCA.&nbsp;</li><li>Uphold the values of our Catholic faith while leading their players.</li></ul><h4><br/></h4><p>Requirements</p><p>&nbsp;<strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Must hold a valid Iowa coaching certification or license.</li><li>Complete Virtus training</li><li>Completed background checks</li><li>CPR trained preferred but not required</li><li>Knowledge cheerleading from previous experiences via performing or coaching</li></ul>
