<p>Teacher qualification requirements:</p>
<p><strong>"(Please note applicants will only be considered if they meet all the requirements)"</strong></p>
<ul><li>
<p><strong>Must</strong> have a bachelors in Early Years Education or similar</p>
</li><li>
<p>A Foreign education degree <strong>must</strong> be recognised by the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (Hk-dir) as comparable to achieve qualified preschool teacher status in Norway. <strong>Documentation from HK-dir must be provided.</strong></p>
</li><li>
<p>English Fluency (min. B2 proficiency)</p>
</li><li>
<p>Provide a police background check from your home country and any country you have resided in for 6+ months in the last 10 years. Police background checks must be no more than 3 months old and can be presented prior to appointment.</p>
</li></ul>

<h2>Arbeidsoppgaver</h2>
<p>A teacher in the ECC is expected to:</p>
<ul><li>
<p>Ensure that all pedagogical work in the classroom is in accordance with Kindergarten Act, the Norwegian Framework Plan, and the IB-program.</p>
</li><li>
<p>The pedagogical leader/homeroom teacher will lead the work in their classroom with a focus on planning, implementation, documentation, and assessment by:</p>
<ul><li>
<p>Monitoring and reporting student progress</p>
<ul><li>
<p>Observe and track each child's progress, creating reports to share with parents and guardians</p>
</li><li>
<p>Maintain regular, open, and positive communication with parents about their child's development</p>
</li><li>
<p>Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the child's best interests are prioritized</p>
</li><li>
<p>Utilize the appropriate reporting channels and practices we have within the school (e.g., student incident reports, §42 Aktivitetsplikt, etc).</p>
</li></ul>
</li><li>
<p>Facilitating parental cooperation through</p>
<ul><li>
<p>Weekly updates documenting learning experiences</p>
</li><li>
<p>Daily dialogue with parents at drop off and pick up times</p>
</li><li>
<p>Parent-teacher conferences</p>
</li><li>
<p>Mutual trust built on positive communication</p>
</li></ul>
</li><li>
<p>Building positive relationships with children</p>
<ul><li>
<p>Ensure that all children feel safe, seen, heard and cared for</p>
</li><li>
<p>Focus on physical and emotional well-being</p>

<p>Promote agency</p>

</li><li>
<p>Develop and implement age and stage appropriate lesson plans and daily routines to foster social, emotional, and academic growth through creative, hands-on, and play-based activities</p>
<ul><li>
<p>Create a safe, positive, inclusive, and warm learning and play environment, prioritizing the best interests of the children while promoting agency and play</p>
</li><li>
<p>Use play, stories, and games to promote well-being and all-round development as set forth by the Norwegian Framework Plan Chapter 9: Learning areas</p>
</li></ul>
</li><li>
<p>Effectively manage a classroom</p>
<ul><li>
<p>Ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and safe, adhering to all health and safety regulations</p>
</li><li>
<p>Monitor children to ensure their safety, promote good behavior, and encourage social skills and independence</p>
</li><li>
<p>Supervise children during all activities, ensuring the best interests of all children are always prioritized</p>
</li><li>
<p>Supervise other employees in the classroom and ensure they are also contributing to a safe and good learning and play environment, adhering to expectations for all ECC staff</p>
</li></ul>
</li><li>
<p>Attend and participate in planning day meetings.</p>
<ul><li>
<p>Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in early childhood education</p>
</li><li>
<p>Contribute to the ECC's joint change and development work regarding the annual plan of the ECC and the Supervision Activity Plan</p>
</li></ul>
</li><li>
<p>Adhere to ISB's Child Protection Policy and procedures</p>
<ul><li>Understand role as a mandated reporter</li></ul>
</li></ul>

<p>The working hours for preschool teachers are 37,5 hours per week. Pre-School Teachers (Non Pedagogical Leaders) are entitled to 6 hours per week of non-contact time used for team collaboration meetings and planning.</p>
